This busy coroner of Houston has a lot of foot traffic and the restaurant owner needed to update the space to increase it’s capacity and enhance the efficiency of the employees. Reality IMT was selected to do 3d laser scanning of this restaurant’s interior and exterior.

We scheduled the scanning for the early hours of the morning or late at night to minimize noise in the data caused by heavy foot traffic. Additionally, our team carefully collected all 3D measurements without disrupting the busy kitchen operations of the food preparation team.

Reality IMT utilized its 3D Laser Scanning services, deploying two teams equipped with advanced 3D laser scanning devices to streamline data collection and reduce on-site time. In less than an hour, the teams efficiently captured precise 3D measurements (point cloud data) while ensuring that the restaurant’s workflow remained uninterrupted. Moreover, this seamless process demonstrated our commitment to both accuracy and minimal disruption. Our team transferred the data to our main office in Houston, where we conducted comprehensive post-processing and created an as-built Revit model.
The Result
Using Reality IMT’s 3D laser scanning and Revit modeling, a comprehensive As-Built Revit model of the entire building was developed with high fidelity. This included precise floor plan, ceiling plan, roof plan, exterior elevation drawings, and a site plan showing parking. This proved the Architect and Owner with accurate metrics and visuals to streamline the new space layout and facilitate the permitting process.
