Job Summary:

Working directly with the Company owner, the Lead Field Capture Technician is responsible for overseeing field data capture operations, including LiDAR scanning, mobile mapping systems, and related technologies. This role ensures proper execution of field workflows, data quality, and coordination between field and office operations.

The position requires strong technical aptitude, leadership in the field, and the ability to operate and troubleshoot advanced capture systems.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead field deployment of laser scanning and mobile data capture systems
  • Operate LiDAR scanners, cameras, GPS/INS systems, and related equipment
  • Ensure data capture meets quality and completeness standards
  • Troubleshoot hardware and field system issues in real-time
  • Train and guide junior field technicians and assistants
  • Coordinate logistics including equipment, transportation, and site readiness
  • Upload, organize, and validate collected data for processing
  • Maintain clear communication with internal teams and project stakeholders
  • Support scaling of field operations for large projects

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2–4 years of experience in field operations, construction, surveying, or technical environments
Preferred Qualification:
  • Experience with LiDAR scanning, reality capture, or mobile mapping systems
  • Background in engineering, construction, or geospatial fields
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware and technical systems
  • Ability to lead field teams and manage workflows
